Road Trip!
Chloe needed a couple vaccines updated before heading off to adoption events this weekend. So we headed out to visit the awesome Blue Ridge Vets. It's quite a long drive, but the time flew by with Chloe riding shot gun. As you can see, she is quite the morning puppy!
When we arrived at Blue Ridge, Chloe greeted everyone with tail wags and kisses. This girl is just the biggest love bug! She got lots of compliments about her beautiful blue eyes and sweet disposition. The vet tech took her to get her vaccines and came back smiling. She told me that Chloe was a very easy patient, which is not surprising since she still had the same goofy grin across her face.
Chloe was such a good girl that when we stopped at Wylie Wagg she got to pick out some extra special treats! Her choice was a peanut butter gobbler! Mine was a cake pop from the Starbucks drive thru...
When we finally got home Chloe was beat! It's hard work being so popular! So she curled up in her bed and took a nice long afternoon nap. Got to keep up on that beauty sleep!

Walks with Chloe
Chloe LOVES long walks so we headed out for a neighborhood stroll this evening. Chloe and Lucia walked beautifully together and at a nice fast pace that got my heart rate going. We met lots of new people and their pups on the trails, which made Chloe smile and wag her happy tail. She is the perfect role model for our Lucia, who is a very shy pup. Just look at that goofy grin of hers!

Chloe's First Night
I picked Chloe up today from her former family. Chloe greeted me with a happy, wagging tail, a gentle hug, and extra sweet kisses. She jumped right up into the front seat and was ready to be my copilot as we headed out to the Fair Lakes adoption event that evening. Chloe loves car rides and was happy to go for a spin. When we arrived at Petsmart, Chloe was excited to meet new people and puppies everywhere she went. She had a great time and got lots of treats and pets.
When the adoption event was over, Chloe happily jumped back into the car and gave me a big grin. We pulled up to our house and were greeted by our three pups - my bossy JRT, our shy shepherd, and our goofy pit bull. Chloe instantly fit into our pack and was glad to have some new doggie friends. Our pit bull Apollo is Chloe's son. We adopted him in October 2011, when Chloe and her babies first arrived at the rescue from Alabama. Apollo is just over a year old now and I daresay he looks and acts a lot like his sweet Momma. Here they are getting reacquainted after everyone settled down.
So far so good. Chloe has spent most of the evening playing with all of the toys, trying out all of the fluffy dogs beds, and giving us kisses. She is a doll and I expect her to be an absolute joy to foster.

Big Momma Returns!
Chloe first came to LDCRF from a shelter in West Virgina as Big Momma Hattie with her three puppies Mae, Sherry, and Lester. We met her near Halloween during a Saturday adoption event. She was beautiful and an absolute sweetheart. She gave her puppies gentle kisses and proudly showed them off to every stranger she met while wagging her tail. She was constantly grinning and just exuded happiness.
Her puppies were all dressed up in Halloween costumes. I grabbed the boy puppy, Lester, who was appropriately dressed as an adorable lobster, and put him into my boyfriend's arms. "Hold this one!" I said cheerfully. By the end of the event, Will was in love with that puppy. It broke his heart to put that pitty boy back on the van to the ranch so less than twenty minutes later, we emailed that we wanted to make Lester part of our family. We adopted him the next day and a year later Apollo is one of our three babies. He is the definition of goofy and lovable.
Chloe went into foster care and was adopted quickly, but now the family's situation has changed and Chloe is looking for a new home. I cannot wait to see her again and reintroduce her to her baby boy all grown up! It should be a fun family reunion because they are both happy wiggle butts!
